Had a look at that, Mista

Made a mental note to remind Craig that list needs updating. At least on the version I got, there were scores of lines looking like this:

Mind you, tonight I'm using the Calypso version, but with the old ("NO") protocol.

If all else fails.
Try download a free trial version of Market Analyser Pro

http://www.mdsnews.com/australia/about/default.aspx

here is a screen shot of "sector view"
example shows how you can breakdown each sector into sub-sectors or if you wish you can see all Co codes within the whole ASX sector.

Some of the list is not current, still shows some entities which have ceased listing. Am not certain the trial would give access to the heatmap for sectors and sub-sectors, but if you cant find elsewhere, take it for a spin around the block
I do use this platform live, however this is not a recommendation as such

Do you have access to a "market map" from your netbroker?

They usually display the XAO but it does break down into each company by size and sector.

This might help you??!!!?

try and download this file: http://rettmer.com.au/TrinityHome/Xamples/...edCompanies.csv
that has all codes in the ASX with their sector.
If you then download the XJO from S&P, you can simply VLOOKUP each code and import the corresponding sector.
That's what I tried to offer this morning, but the uploader would accept neither csv nor xls files. Had to stick it onto my website.

All ASX companies:

hmmm - I tried to upload it, but am told "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file"
must look for some other means (a little later.)

Or you could browse the ASX starting here: http://www.asx.com.au/products/indices/types/sector.htm

does anyone know where to find a break down of the asx 200 listing the individual constituents

I figured asking here would be quicker then manually compiling one
