Six years on and not a peep from anyone. Makes for some interesting reading though considering the current state of things with ATM and the possible influence the forces in ATM currently may've had in this.

QUOTE
Earlier this month Australian company OnCard International Limited, now known as TasFoods, announced it had agreed to buy the farming business for A$250 million (NZ$275m).

However, last week it was revealed that a new buyer, an unnamed private foreign company, had been found and OnCard/TasFoods had missed out.

-------------------------------------

VDL is Australia's oldest and largest dairy farming business and TasFoods would have been the first Australian owner in the company's 190-year history.

Wonder if it is anything to do with this.

A rights issue is their capital raising plan to seek world domination. How laughable.

But what we can take from this is that it is still a long time before the clowns pulling the strings can actually put anything together if they even have the capability to.

We need a replacement for this guy.

Liz, I just monitor this in a rather feeble attempt to pick up some info on industry trend. I don't actually have any as I believe there are higher reward stocks around in the medical bio's rather than a struggling consumer commodity stock. So you are probably right to go to the "other side" of the equation.

Interesting nevertheless this one and there will be a time for it.

ATM.NZX is interesting. The basic gene tests are getting cheap as chips. There is plenty of scope to screen for a variety types of protein/sugar that could prove healthful to mass or specialised markets.

Fonterra are stupid to ignore (and supress) the research. This is the path forward to creating niche consumer markets for milk in the affluent world (which is ... everywhere ... except sub-saharan africa ... and they probably have A2 cows already).

Do not consider my postings as investment advice. I am here to share research and to speculate on what might be. The boundary between fact and conjecture might not always be clear - best to treat all comments as speculation.

Hi Plastic,

I think it could be worth jumping on FNP:ASX as a beneficiary of A2 milk. Especially with A2 sales growth in Australia getting a mention yesterday.

I looked at FNP last year - not inspiring company exactly, but were 48cps then and 55cps now - heading in the right direction, albeit tentatively. Directors soaking up lots of stock has held the price. Should be profitable which makes it a safer exposure at this stage. Though I know you prefer to be at the cutting edge and holding the IP for the long term.

Interesting report out yesterday.

What I found most interesting is the promise of the cap. raising details to be out in about two or three weeks time.

I think it is fair to say, that there is a pan-industry strategem which is founded on licencing and industry partnership. Certainly, the comments from ATM lend themselves to corroborating this.

Though it is only speculation, if the industry is make its splash all at once and ATM is just one part of that industry, then I think we can also expect the same from the likes of GEN, BLT and PEB. Probably the Aussies as well.

Technically this seems to be the case with all the stocks on or going to double bottoms.

Of course, if they aren't all happening at once, then, I just can't imagine that ATM would be the first.

Interesting days ahead as a long long winter of discontent seems to be about to end.
