Yes - always interesting to see how the experts fared smile.gif and whether one should take their advice or not.

Lesson here, IMHO, looking at these charts and if you did act on their tips, is take profits when they present and don't get greedy - had you sat on most of the stocks for the whole year (and I assume they were all 12 month targets) you would not be as happy as if you sold at the top smile.gif

Hamish Douglass, Lowys, Solly Lew back new listed fund
extract
QUOTE
Some Australian corporate heavyweights are set to throw their support behind a new $500 million listed investment company.

Street Talk understands Magellan Financial Group's Hamish Douglass, ANZ Banking Corp chairman David Gonski, Premier Investments' Solomon Lew, Westfield Group's Lowy family and the Paul Ramsay Foundation are among investors that have agreed to tip the first $100 million into the raising.

The raising is for a new investment company Hearts and Minds Investments Ltd, which will make investments based on ideas from the annual Sohn Hearts & Minds investment conference to make money for charities.

Next Sohn Hearts & Minds conference is scheduled to take place in Melbourne on November 16. - I'll update the charts then from last year's picks to see how they faired

Phil King's top pick for 2018 - Appen Ltd - APX - just took off. His short JBH is not behaving in the manner in which he would have liked though - at the moment anyway since is's not yet 2018

Not part of the Sohn Hearts & Minds 2017 predictions, but ten "favoured stocks for 2018" from UBS- according to AFR - which I'll add here so I can tract down the road as to how they performed

QUOTE
AGL, Origin Energy and BHP are among a group of 10 large-cap companies that stockbroking house UBS outlines as its "favoured stocks" for 2018.

UBS also rates Qantas Airways, Aristocrat Leis

Logistics company Brambles, share registry company Link Group, funds management group Janus Henderson and casino operator Star Entertainment Group round out the list of 10 favoured stocks.
